1164 Limited Release is the pinnacle of Warburn Estate. For a wine to be selected under the 1164 label, it must meet the highest of standards.
Testament to this in just five short years 1164 has won a staggering 60 wine show awards.
The current release Montepulciano has won a trophy and four gold medals to date – 11 wine show awards in total. It’s equally award winning partner is the first release 2014 Lagrein – the proud bearer of 11 wine show awards, including three gold medals.
The very limited production results in the highest of quality from Warburn Estate. The reds are matured in the finest of French and American oak for 12 months, and are often released with bottle age for premium drinking. Our chief winemaker views each wine individually and decides the best release date for premium varietal characteristics.
These unique wines, in particular the Montepulciano, are a tribute to the founders of Warburn Estate’s Italian origins.
